Joseph was great!
Heating gets months of not being thought about, then is asked to work every day. A visit before that switch is the easiest time to find anything.
01NextGen · Heating MaintenanceThey are different requests, and picking the right one gets you a more useful visit.
It heats, it holds temperature, nothing alarming. This is the planned check, arranged when it suits you.
If the heat is not coming on, or the house will not warm up, the visit should start from that fault rather than from a general inspection.
A new sound, a longer run time, a room that lags behind. Either request can carry that — say it clearly and it gets looked at.
Describe it in plain words and send the request. Sorting this out was never meant to be your job.
None of these is urgent. That is exactly what makes the visit easy to arrange properly, at a time you picked.
If the system is already not heating properly, maintenance is not the right request — ask for a repair evaluation instead, so the visit starts from the actual fault. And if you smell gas or a carbon-monoxide alarm sounds, it is neither: leave the area and contact your gas utility or emergency services first.
Worth stating plainly, because this is the part the industry tends to gloss over.
Equipment can fail between visits. Maintenance improves the odds of catching something first; it does not remove the possibility.
A system running as it should generally uses energy more sensibly than one that is not, but a specific saving is not a figure this page can honestly quote.
Condition, age and how hard a system is worked all matter more than any single number anyone could put in a sentence here.
If something is already wrong, maintenance is simply the wrong shape of visit for it.
Nothing about this is urgent, which is what makes it straightforward to arrange properly.
Scheduling ahead of the cold is simply easier than scheduling during it, for you and for the calendar.
The equipment is reviewed and watched while running, so anything that has changed since it last worked gets noticed.
Including nothing worth doing, which is a legitimate and common outcome of a maintenance visit.
If something does need attention, it is explained with its cost before it becomes work.
